How we helped

INWARD Martial Arts

From attracting new clients to building a loyal community, here’s how SE Marketing helped the Inward Method lay the foundation for growth.

A Unique And Challenging Project

At SE Marketing, we pride ourselves on crafting tailored strategies for martial arts gyms.  Each project is different, but the Inward Method, developed by Simon Schellevis, stands out as one of our most rewarding and challenging collaborations.

The Inward Method is a modern refinement of internal arts like Tai Chi, yoga, and meditation. Simon has distilled the most valuable practices from these disciplines into a time-efficient, practical system that helps people improve their mental clarity, emotional balance, and overall well-being.

Unlike mainstream martial arts like MMA or Muay Thai, the Inward Method is both new and niche, which posed unique challenges:

01

Educating the Market

Most potential clients weren’t familiar with what the Inward Method was or its benefits.

02

Targeting a Specialized Audience

The method appeals to a select group interested in personal growth, requiring careful targeting.

03

Communicating Sophisticated Benefits

Highlighting the physical, mental, and emotional transformation without overwhelming the audience.

How We Helped the Inward Method Succeed

To tackle the challenges of marketing the Inward Method, we approached this project by focusing on four key areas of growth:

1. Bringing in New Clients

The first challenge was building awareness and generating leads for a niche concept like the Inward Method. To achieve this, we developed a custom lead funnel that consistently attracted new clients at an impressive cost per lead of just €0.94.

In addition, we launched a referral program that incentivized current clients to share their experience. By offering discounts for referrals, we expanded Simon’s reach organically while building trust through word-of-mouth.

2. Building a Loyal Community

We didn’t just focus on bringing in clients—we wanted them to stay. By introducing a community-building strategy, we created a space where members could connect, share progress, and feel part of something bigger.

This transformed the Inward Method from a training program into a shared experience, fostering loyalty and long-term commitment.

3. Getting More from Each Client

To boost revenue, we helped Simon introduce upsell opportunities, such as private sessions, to add value for clients while increasing their lifetime value.

The referral program played a dual role here by encouraging deeper engagement through discounts on private lessons for those who referred new members.

4. Establishing Credibility

To position the Inward Method as a professional and credible brand, we worked on building its online presence. This included designing the website and writing clear, compelling website copy that communicated Simon’s vision and the benefits of his system.

We also improved his social media strategies, offering tips to better connect with his audience. Finally, we implemented automation tools to streamline operations and track performance, ensuring sustained growth.

The Results

The strategies we implemented for the Inward Method delivered measurable results, including a cost per lead of just €0.94 and a growing, engaged community. But instead of taking our word for it, hear directly from Simon about his experience:
